Genesis is well known for their creative portraiture and in 1999 collected two silver awards and two certificates of attainment for portrait work. While most of their portraits are made outdoors, the Studio is also used for indoor portraiture.

Based in Katoomba, Genesis is able to incorporate the available spectacular mountain scenes and garden settings for your portrait sessions.

Genesis is able to photograph you in colour or black & white, and can provide you with hand-printed, toned, textured or even canvas wall portraits.

From October ’98 to October ’99, Genesis organised and ran a children’s portrait competition called Hawkesbury Child of the Year, to raise funds for charity. Over the 12 month period, Genesis photographed more than 125 children, mostly using natural light or outdoors, and raised over $5,000 for charity. They also donated $6000 in prizes for the competition.

One of the charity portraits was awarded a silver merit at the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers awards in May 1999.

Since then, there has been an ongoing demand for beautiful children’s portraits captured by the photographers at Genesis, especially from parents who are dis-satisfied with their poor quality shopping mall photographs.

So often we hear the words " I hate having my photo taken." Because of this, we are very experienced at making you feel at ease in front of the camera, especially outdoors.

Capturing the romance, emotion and love between couples is second nature to our staff. And, making you both look good together is just as important.
